Ushers

Serving every weekend at our liturgy is a group of parishioners in the Ushers Ministry. Perhaps, after reading the following summary of their duties, you would like to serve our church community in this way. If so, please contact Tony Qualizza or just call the church office, and he will get in touch with you.

Scheduled ushers should arrive at least 10 minutes early and pickup their baskets and name tags at the northwest corner of the church. Check with the Deacon, Pastoral Associate or Father for any special instructions.

Ushers may be required to assist for special events such as palm distribution, bishop’s visits, reserve seating, extra chairs for overflow crowd, second collections, directions at communion, etc.

When the offertory baskets are handed out, check to see if the food baskets were set out in the center of the church and returned to the foot of the cross behind the altar when the offertory baskets are collected. .

If an emergency arises the ushers will be responsible for directing people to the emergency exits, directing emergency personnel to the sick or injured, and keeping all exit doors from being blocked during regular services.

At the conclusion of the services, check to see if the offertory baskets were picked up or assist in emptying them.

Please make it a point to remember the days you are scheduled. Thank you for volunteering your time and talents to make our homage to Almighty God a memorable one. Click here to download the Usher & Bulletin Distribution Schedule for May - June 2008 in Adobe pdf* format.
