From a winner of the Recipe Contest - In Her Own Words.
Recently, I had the opportunity to attend a cooking class at Amelia’s Market
Cooking School. I was able to do this using the gift certificate I won in Holy
Spirit’s recipe contest a few months ago.
I attended a class on making soups and chili's, and I enjoyed the experience
greatly. We made two different types of soups – butternut squash soup and wild
mushroom and beef barley soup. Both were delicious but I especially liked the
squash soup. After the soups were made and tested, we then made two different
chili recipes – black bean and espresso chili and chicken and cannelloni bean
chili. My favorite of the two was the chicken chili, and I definitely want to
try that one at home.
This was a ‘hands on’ class, and everyone gets to measure, chop, slice or stir
something. Chef Lori was very knowledgeable and made the class fun for all. I
thoroughly enjoyed to experience and would encourage anyone to take a cooking
class there. And to all the other Holy Spirit Recipe contest winners, please
take advantage of your gift certificate and sign up for a cooking class soon. I
guarantee you’ll enjoy the evening, and maybe learn some great cooking tips too.
