May - June 2007 Cheeseburger Pie Ingredients: 1. 1, 9-inch pie crust (ready made or home made) Filling: 1. 1 lb ground beef 2. 1 can (3oz) tomato sauce 3. ¼ cup chopped onion 4. ½ cup dry bread crumbs 5. 1 tsp salt 6. ¼ tsp pepper 7. ½ tsp oregano 8. ½ tsp chili powder Topping: 1. 8oz shredded Cheddar Cheese (mild or sharp) 2. 1 large egg 3. ½ tsp Worchester sauce 4. ½ tsp dry mustard 5. ½ tsp salt 6. ¼ cup milk Directions: Pre-heat oven to 425º In a medium skillet brown and crumble the ground beef. Drain off fat when meat is browned. Stir in salt, oregano, pepper, bread crumbs, and tomato sauce. Turn meat mixture into pie shell and press in firmly. In a medium bowl beat egg with milk, Worchester sauce, salt, and dry mustard. Add shredded cheese to mixture and blend with spoon until cheese is evenly coated. Spread cheese mixture over meat filling. Bake about 30 minutes or until cheese is melted and slightly browned.
