April 2007 Easy and Quick Omelets This works great when all your family is together. The best part is that no one has to wait for their special omelet!!! Kids love this one. Have everyone write their name on a quart size Ziploc freezer bag with a permanent marker. Crack two (2) eggs (large or extra large) into the bad and shake to mix the eggs up. Put out a variety of ingredients such as: cheese, ham, onion, green pepper, tomato, salsa, etc. Each guest takes their bad and adds their choice of ingredients into their bag and shakes them up. Make sure to squeeze out as much air as possible and zip the bag up. Place the bags into rolling, boiling water for EXACTLY 13 minutes. Using a large pot, you can usually cook 6-8 omelets at one time. Remove bags, open and the omelet will easily roll out of the bag onto the plate. Be prepared for everyone to be AMAZED!!! Nice to serve with fresh fruit and coffee cake. Everyone gets involved in the process and is a great conversation piece.
